Meet Buddy Love, the naughtiest dog in Brighton

Little Pig Publishing’s first picture ebook for kids is now available on Amazon.

The Adventures of Buddy Love, the Naughtiest Dog in Brighton: Buddy Makes a Stink is written by Crystin Morgan, with illustrations by Leila Nihill.

The first in the series of Buddy’s adventures, we meet Buddy – a little dog who lives by the sea in Brighton – and his animal friends, who play in and around the big garden in the middle of the square where Buddy lives. One morning, Buddy wakes up and decides to spend the day in the country. But apart from chasing butterflies, Buddy finds something very stinky indeed.

Suitable for pre-schoolers (0-5 years), Buddy Makes a Stink is illustrated throughout in full colour and priced £0.77 ($0.99).

Download it from Amazon (all regions) free during our special promotion days: April 25-26, 2014.

What’s your bedtime habit?

Forget going to bed with a good book, more people in the UK these days curl up with Facebook or Twitter before they go to sleep. That’s the conclusion of a new survey to coincide with National Bed Month by The Original Factory Shop.

According to the survey, for one in five people, logging into social media on their mobile phones is the last thing they do before going to sleep and the first when they wake up.

Young people from Wales are the biggest Twitter and Facebook users at bedtime, with almost a third checking social media sites while between the sheets (unsurprisingly, people aged 18-24 are five times more likely to do so than the over-55s).

In the North East, they prefer to watch TV in bed (60 percent compared to the national average of 30 percent), while couples in Northern Ireland are keeping romance alive, with one in two always kissing their other half before going to sleep.

Thank goodness for the Scots, who are the most likely to indulge in the good old traditional bedtime habit of a warm drink and a good book.

But here’s an idea. If you can’t live without your mobile last thing at night, why not download an ebook to take to bed with you? Most of our titles here at Little Pig Publishing are available on Google Play as well as the Apple iBookstore and iTunes. Check out our main website for the links.

It’s Read an Ebook Week

Read an Ebook Week started today – March 2nd 2014 – and runs until March 8th.

This international event  aims to promote digital reading and literacy and started back in 2004, which means it’s currently celebrating its 10th anniversary.

So what happens during Read an Ebook Week? Well, various ebook distributors take part, and heaps of books are offered free or discounted. Smashwords is a sponsor of the event and has a Read an Ebook Week catalogue on its website.

If that’s not enough choice for you, there are loads of free books up for grabs at the Apple iBookstore/iTunes. There are two catalogues you can browse – one for free first-in-a-series titles, and another for all other free ebooks. Welcome to Little Pig Publishing

Hello book lovers and welcome to The Little Pig Publishing blog.

Little Pig Publishing is an indie publisher that launched in November 2013. Our aim is to publish ebooks we like – books we can’t put down, books that intrigue and entertain us – not books that are a safe bet in terms of profit margins. Well, that’s the beauty of indie publishing.

So check back with us regularly to find out what we’re up to and what new titles we’re distributing via the usual channels (Amazon, iTunes, Google Play, Smashwords, Nook, Kobo, Diesel… to name the biggest ones). It’s going to be a blast.
